Learn How To SELF SOOTHE. The Productive, Rather Than Destructive Way.

Ok, now this is a super important one. Learning how to Self Soothe, is one of the most useful tools in our Self Care Kit.

Particularly during this lifetime, we can find ourselves, stressed, over stimulated, anxious, worn out, and ultra reactive to our daily experiences and interactions.

Self Soothing is like a built in system within, we recognise that our Nervous System is in need of help and we look to soothe our way out of the feeling of discomfort in hope of leading ourselves into a more peaceful internal environment. Sound lovely, right?

However, albeit with the best intentions, this is often the part that is easy to get wrong. In the fast paced world that we live in, we can become accustomed to reach for the Quick Fix tools in our kit, opting for the super glue rather than the sewing kit.

We choose things that make us feel good, quickly, but they are short lived, and often not at all good for our mental health and physical wellbeing.

Here’s a table below outlining the tools that serve us only for a short time, and are perhaps ok some of the time, and the POWER TOOLS that we want to rely on more regularly.
